Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky has called for the international community to take “preventive action” to deter the potential use of nuclear weapons by Russia in the ongoing war in Ukraine.
In other words, “you strike them before they strike us”.
Russian officials weren’t too happy about Zelensky’s comments. Soon after, a Ukrainian spokesperson said his statement had been *misinterpreted*. He said the “pre-emptive strikes” Zelensky mentioned concerning economic sanctions instead of nuclear strikes. I’m starting to think the military theater needs some new scriptwriters, or at least a better actor than Zelensky.
Both Russia and Ukraine are blaming western countries for “stoking nuclear war”.
