It may soon take more time for ups packages to arrive at your door.
UPS has been negotiating with the Teamsters union that represents 340 thousand UPS workers across north America. Their current contract expires July 31st. The union has long been critical of UPS for its alleged hoarding of profits and is demanding that the company share more of its gains with workers.
They also want to eliminate a two-tier system in the current contract which they say creates different pay scales, hours, and benefits for workers. UPS has declared that it provides its employees with industry leading pay and benefits.
If the offer is not met, it could lead to what will be the largest single employer strike in American history.
