An estimated 400 million dollars of US aid had gone into the pockets of Ukrainian politicians. Apparently, corruption in Ukraine didn’t stop there.
The Black Sea Grain Deal was interrupted last week due to Ukrainian corruption. The deal, brokered by the UN and Turkey, allows for the inspection and the passage of ships carrying grain and other exports from Ukrainian ports through the Black Sea. The inspections were to be “joint inspections” monitored by Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN.
Apparently Ukrainian politicians have developed a “pay to play” scheme for ship owners and exporters. The Ukrainian inspectors have been charging ship owners to skip inspections. The fee is no small change and has amounted to millions in illegal bribes. When the Russian foreign ministry tried to stop the bribes, Ukraine simply stopped all inspections and refused to let any of the exports pass.
The spokesman for the UN secretary general Antonio Guterres reported that they needed more time to reach an agreement. However, according to Russia’s statement, Ukrainian port officials wanted to protect their extra illicit income. They actively resisted attempts to randomize lists of inbound ships chosen for inspection, submitted by Kiev quote “based on its needs for ports, storage and capacity”.
More importantly, it appears they are allowing ships to pass inspection to European nations even though the products contain substances which are banned in the EU, and can be harmful to those who consume the products. The Black Sea grain deal was made in order to curb rising food costs in the EU, middle east and Africa which have been blamed on the Russia Ukraine war.
Ukrainian officials are personally profiting from the war that has claimed so many lives and it is not the first time. In the early 1990s the same KGB agents in all former USSR states sold everything that wasn’t nailed down. As one example you could buy a nuclear submarine if you had the cash.
Further they split up ownership of all of the former government owned corporations such as Gazprom and Rosneft amongst themselves. And by themselves we mean the CIA, MI6 and the KGB.
The oligarchy was born at that time, and the same clans still run the nations of the former USSR with some loyal to the order of the Black Sun and others still loyal to the Order of the Dragon. Both orders are falling flat on promises made both to the Ukraine and Russia.
The Order of the Red Dragon and the Order of the Black Sun in Ukraine made an attempt to file in the hall of records for a revival of the power of both. More promises were floated amongst Ukrainian officials for the title of Mr. Black. The title means head of the Order of the Black Sun. Of course, all of their pleas were rejected.
