Larry Sanger, cofounder of Wikipedia, claims that the online encyclopedia is being used as a tool of “information warfare” by US liberal establishments and intelligence agencies.
Evidence has been found indicating the manipulation of Wikipedia content. These edits can be traced back to the computers of the CIA, FBI, and other large corporations and government agencies. Incidents of censorship reportedly include removal of Iraq war casualty counts and aerial images of Guantanamo Bay prison. In addition, Sanger accused intelligence agencies of influencing top contributors on Wikipedia, thereby manipulating the site’s content.
