A massive winter cyclone is still impacting many parts of the u-s- knocking out electricity and canceling flights.
Winter storm “Elliot” has impacted more than half of the entire country. On Friday, more than 1.4 million homes and businesses were without power. The storm also grounded about 78 hundred flights on Friday after forcing six thousand of cancellations on Thursday. 48-thousand flights have been delayed since Thursday- making it very challenging for holiday travel.
Fed-ex and UPS warned that Christmas packages may be arriving late because of the storm. The storm is considered a “Bomb Cyclone”. It was caused been caused by a collision of warm, moist air coming from the south with cold, dry air from the north. At least 27 deaths across the US have been already attributed to the extreme weather.
The majority of the deaths were caused by fatal road accidents in states including Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Ohio.
