Migrant workers who are part of Canada’s Temporary Foreign Worker program claim they are working in substandard conditions

An alarming 50 thousand to 60 thousand foreign workers per year enter Canada under Canada’s Temporary Foreign Worker program, which has been under criticism for years.

Dramatic scenarios include Jamaican farmworkers being compelled to work without adequate protection against dangerous pesticides, and cases of verbal abuse from employers.

These migrant workers sourced from Mexico and eleven Caribbean nations can be employed for up to eight months a year.
