In response to the court’s ruling, Biden said his administration would pursue relief through a different avenue, the higher education act. The White House has accused the Republican Party of blocking their attempts to provide relief for student loan borrowers. However, Republicans argued that Biden’s initial plan was unconstitutional and unfair.
Biden also took aim at Republican elected officials for supporting billions of Dollars in pandemic related loans to businesses that were eventually forgiven, but not student debt relief.
