The Federal Reserve bank of Saint Louis serves the eighth Federal Reserve district, which includes all or parts of Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas.
The Saint louis Fed is one of 12 regional Reserve banks that, together with the board of governors in Washington, D.C., make up the Federal Reserve system. During his 15-year tenure at the bank, Bullard was a crucial vote on the Federal open market committee.
He was an advocate for robust rate hikes and inflation control, even voting for a half point hike in 2022 the only member to do so. Bullard will be taking on a new role as the Inaugural Dean of Purdue University’s Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr. School of business which just got a 10 million Dollar donation last year.
