This comes following his indictment on felony charges in Georgia related to attempts to overturn 2020’s presidential election results.
Trump went to jail, where he was reportedly booked, fingerprinted, and photographed for a mugshot. The entire process took approximately 20 minutes. The former president was then released under a 200 thousand dollars bond agreement. Trump announced his impending arrest earlier in the day via his social media platform, Truth Social. Leaving his summer home in New Jersey, Trump arrived in Atlanta via his private plane and gave a thumbs up to waiting cameras.
Trump’s arraignment date is not yet decided. The district attorney initially proposed a trial date in march, but it’s now pushed to October 23rd. Trump has filed a motion to separate his case from his co-defendants and suggested postponing all his trials until after the 2024 presidential elections.
