Donetsk residential and commercial areas are shelled by the Ukrainian army

Donetsk residential and commercial areas are shelled by the Ukrainian army

Every day- more and more information is being revealed about the war in Ukraine- its origins and its overall purpose.  And it’s not looking too good for Ukraine. An independent journalist is now reporting that Ukraine slaughtered 16 civilians, including two children on Monday – when their weapons hit two adjacent neighborhoods in Donetsk- destroying residential and commercial areas.

Unfortunately, these scenes of death are nothing new for both residents and reporters in the area- but the backdrop is getting more and more gory. And these attacks didn’t just start with the war.

For the locals, it became normalized after over eight years of Ukrainian attacks – a tragically grotesque kind of normality, where the post-bombing routine starts soon after the last explosions die down.  At this point, there is no safe region in Donetsk, nowhere is off-limits for Ukraine’s bombings, not maternity hospitals, nor busy markets.

The issue does, however, appear to be off-limits for the reporting of western corporate-owned media.
