The Peruvian minister of health announced the measure will allocate over 12 million Peruvian Sol – or 3.3 million Dollars to purchase the immunoglobulin used in GBS treatment, for two years.
BGS can be triggered by bacterial or viral infection, vaccine administration, surgery or zika virus, and symptoms range from temporary muscle control impairment to complete paralysis. BGS is also a well-known side effect of taking the COVID vaccine.
In extreme cases gabs can be life-threatening, with 3 percent to 5 percent of GBS sufferers ending up dying from complications. Currently, there is no cure for GBS. The measure is an effort to protect the health and wellbeing of citizens, as immunoglobulin can reduce the duration of GBS and its symptoms.
