Residents in Tokyo Japan came together to protest the government’s redevelopment plan for Meiji Jingu Gaien Park
The plan, approved earlier this year, would see the construction of three towers, resulting in the loss of nearly 3 thousand trees. The proposal also includes the demolition of a historic baseball stadium and the replacement of a rugby field with artificial grass. The protesters are primarily concerned with the 150 ginkgo trees on a century old promenade that could be affected by the construction.
