The house voted to approve the bill on Wednesday evening, the final tally was 314 to 117. The senate voted late last night, 63 to 36.
The bill now goes to the president to be signed into law. The legislation will cap spending for the next two years with small cuts to nonmilitary spending, and an expansion in what they consider ‘defense spending’.
It also includes conservative measures to claw back about $28 billion in unspent COVID relief funds, eliminate $1.4 billion in IRS funding, overhaul the permitting process for energy projects, and restart federal student loan payments.
